anniversary=anni（把an与ni对调，变成nian年）+ vers（turn）+ ary（表示集合名词的尾缀）每年都过的节日，“周年纪念日”
词根ann=年，如：
annual“年度的”，如annual report / income / production年度报告 / 收入 / 产量
-ary是表示集合名词的尾缀，如：
dictionary所有单词的组合，“字典”
vocabulary“词汇”
尾缀-ary也可以表示人，如：
secretary=secret + ary为老板保存秘密的人，“秘书”
contemporary=con（together）+ tempor（time）+ ary（人）作名词时表“同时代的人”，作形容词时表“当代的，同时代的”，如contemporary writer当代作家，例：Beethoven is contemporary with Napoleon.贝多芬与拿破仑是同时代的人。
词根vers=turn
adverse=ad（to）+ vers（turn）+e突然间大好的形式全部转变了，“不利的，有害的”（谐音记忆：爱得我死，这种爱是不利的，有害的），如adverse circumstances逆境，the adverse effects of the drug药物的有害作用
universe=uni（唯一）+ vers（turn）+e“宇宙”
回忆unique“独一无二的”，uniform“制服”，unite“统一”
universal转了一大圈，全照顾到了，“全体的，共同的”，如
universal agreement全体同意，universal rejoicing普天同乐
version
1从一种语言翻转到另外一种语言，“译文，版本”，如English version英文版
2对某事描述的另外一种版本，“说法（一种表述的版本）”例：It’s your version of what happened.这是对所发生事情的你的说法。
verse相同的话来回的说，“诗”
prose=p（铺）+ rose（玫瑰），铺散着玫瑰的一篇漂亮的“散文”
reverse=re（against）+ vers（turn）+ e向对立面旋转，“颠倒，翻转”其英文解释为：
1 turn sth. inside out把里面的翻出来，如：reverse the collar把领子翻出来
2 turn sth.over to show the back把一个东西翻过来看到它的背面，如：reverse the sheet of the paper把这张纸翻过来
re做前缀表示against的词还有一个：resist=re（against）+ sist（stand）“抵制，抵抗”
versatile=vers（turn）+ atile“多才多艺的；多功能的”，如a versatile cook一个多才多艺的厨师，a versatile truck一部多用途的卡车
ile是一个很典型的形容词尾缀，如：mobile“可移动的”，fertile“肥沃的”，如fertile land肥沃的土地，hostile=host（男主人）+ ile“有敌意的”，如be hostile to the reform对待改革持敌对的态度
diverse=di（away分开）+ vers（turn）+ e旋转出来的各不一样，“各种各样的”，如diverse culture background各种各样的文化背景，其名词为diversity“多样性”
conversely=con（fully）+vers（turn）+ ely安全的旋转过去，副词“相反地”，例：Some people think this report would destroy the reputation; conversely, it will give us a lot of free publication.有些人认为这个报告会破坏我们的声誉，正好相反，它给我们做了很多免费的宣传。
versus介词“与……相对”，简写VS，例：The match tonight is China versus Japan.今晚这场比赛是中国对日本的。
词根vert=turn
avert=a（=ab，off偏离）+ vert“避免（事故）”，不同于avoid（宽泛的单词，表避免任何事物），例：The accident was averted by the driver’s quick reaction.由于司机的快速反应，避免了这个事故的发生。
Invert英文解释：put sth. upside down or in the opposite direction使它上下颠倒或方向相反“使倒置，使反向”，与turn不同，如turn the bottle指可以旋转任何角度，invert the bottle指180度旋转，invert the order颠倒顺序
convert=con（fully）+ vert（turn）完全地旋转过去，变得面目全非，根本看不出原样，“转化”，例：Coal can be converted into gas.煤炭可以转化为天然气。
其同义词为：transform=trans（across）+ form（形式）形式上跨越，没有实质的改变，只是“形式上的改变”，例：using a computer, a photograph can be easily transformed into a greeting card.通过电脑，一张照片可以很容易地变成一张贺年卡。 transformer变压器
另外还有三个“改变”
I have to change my design.非常大地改变
I have to alter my design.小范围的改变
I have to vary my design according to the demands of my clients.根据因素而改变，改动
